a gentle knead
remember this secret undertaking?
after numerous attempts (some good and some not so good),
i’ve found the perfect recipe for daily bread.
(the only requirements: patience and four ingredients.)
daily bread recipe
3 cups bread flour
2 tsp. yeast
1-1/2 tsp. salt
1-1/2 cups of warm water
combine first three ingredients in large bowl
while mixing add warm water a little at a time
mix (and a gentle knead) until it is nice and gooey.
cover with towel or lightly cover with plastic wrap
let it sit out for 2-3 hours and then overnight in refrigerator.
when you’re ready bake:
take dough out of mixing bowl
add a little olive oil to bread pan or tray
place dough on pan or tray
(this is where you can add a variety of crust toppings – sesame seeds are really nice)
let it sit and rise for another hour or two.
pre-heat oven to 350 degrees
place dough in oven
cook until the crust is golden and firm to touch.
